You read the news about Pag-IBIG paying out a record P55.65 billion in dividends. You ran the numbers on our MP2 Calculator. The 7.10 percent tax-free return looks good. Now you want to actually open an MP2 account.
Good news. The entire enrollment process can be done online in about 15 minutes. No trips to the Pag-IBIG branch required (unless you want to). No long forms. No fees to enroll.
This guide walks you through every step. What you need, where to go, what to click, and how to make your first contribution. By the end you will have an active MP2 account earning dividends.
If you are still figuring out whether MP2 is right for you, our complete MP2 Savings Guide covers the program in detail.
Two quick checks before we get into the steps. First, make sure you qualify. Second, gather what you need.
You qualify for MP2 enrollment if you meet any of these conditions:
If your MP1 membership is inactive (no contributions in the past 6 months), you need to reactivate it first. The quickest way is to make a small P200 contribution to MP1 to bring it active, then proceed with MP2 enrollment.
You do not need physical documents for online enrollment, but you need the following information handy:
If you do not have a Pag-IBIG MID yet, you need to register for Pag-IBIG membership first at Virtual Pag-IBIG. This takes about 5 to 10 minutes and gets you an MID number that you can use for MP2 enrollment afterward.
This is the fastest method. Most people can complete the entire process in 15 minutes or less.
Open your browser and visit the official MP2 Enrollment page at Virtual Pag-IBIG. You will see a page titled "OPEN MP2 SAVINGS ACCOUNT" with a section to validate your Pag-IBIG Membership ID. This is the official starting point.
Use a stable internet connection. The Pag-IBIG portal can be sensitive to interruptions during the form submission process.
Enter your 12-digit Pag-IBIG MID Number in the field provided. Fill in your Last Name, First Name, and Date of Birth exactly as they appear in Pag-IBIG's records. If your name has special characters (apostrophes, hyphens), match the exact format.
Tick the privacy notice checkbox, enter the CAPTCHA code shown on screen, and click "Submit" to proceed. The system verifies your details against Pag-IBIG's database. If everything matches, you move on. If not, double-check your MID number and personal details for typos.
After validation, you land on the enrollment form. Most fields will already be pre-filled from your MP1 records, but verify everything is correct.
Confirm or update your current address, email, and mobile number. Add your civil status, occupation, and source of income if not already filled. If you are an OFW, indicate your current country of employment.
Enter your desired monthly contribution in the "Desired Monthly Contribution" field. The minimum is P500 per transaction. There is no maximum, but for contributions above P100,000 you need to submit proof of income or source of funds, and for one-time deposits above P500,000 you need to use a personal or Manager's Check.
You do not have to stick to this amount strictly. The form just records your intended contribution. Most members use this field as a target rather than a binding commitment. If you are not sure how much to contribute, our MP2 Goal Calculator helps you figure out the right amount based on your savings target.
This is the critical decision. You have two options. Compounding (recommended for most people): your dividends get reinvested into your account every year, your money grows faster, and you receive everything as one big lump sum at maturity. Annual Payout: Pag-IBIG sends your dividends to your bank account every year, and your final maturity payout only includes your principal contributions plus the final year's dividend.
For wealth building, choose compounding. For yearly income (like retirees), choose annual payout. If you choose annual payout, you need to provide your bank account details so Pag-IBIG can credit your dividends. LandBank and Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) are the most commonly used banks for this. You can also choose other accredited banks.
Review every field carefully one last time. Once you click Submit, the form locks in. Tick any final consent checkboxes (privacy notice, terms and conditions), then click "Submit" to finalize your enrollment.
The system processes your application instantly. You will see a confirmation page with your new MP2 account details.
This is the most important step that many new members forget. After successful enrollment, you receive a "Modified Pag-IBIG II Enrollment Form" PDF with your details. This document contains your 12-digit MP2 Account Number. You need this number for every future contribution.
Download the PDF immediately. Save it to your phone, cloud storage, or email. Print a copy if you prefer paper records. You will also receive an email confirmation with the same details. Keep that email forever. Note: your MP2 Account Number is different from your Pag-IBIG MID number. Both are 12 digits but they serve different purposes.
If you prefer face-to-face enrollment or have trouble with the online process, you can enroll at any Pag-IBIG Fund branch nationwide.
Bring a valid government-issued ID with photo and signature, your Pag-IBIG MID Number (or you can have them look it up if you forgot it), and optionally a printed MP2 Enrollment Form (downloadable from the Pag-IBIG website) pre-filled to save time.
At the branch, you will get a queue number and wait for your turn, tell the staff you want to enroll in MP2, fill out the enrollment form they provide, submit your form along with your ID, and receive your MP2 enrollment confirmation and account number.
The whole process at a branch typically takes 30 minutes to 1 hour depending on the queue. Some Pag-IBIG branches have dedicated MP2 counters which can be faster.
If you are an Overseas Filipino Worker, MP2 enrollment is fully accessible from abroad. Here is what you need to know.
The same Virtual Pag-IBIG online enrollment process works from any country. You do not need to fly home. What you need from abroad: an internet connection and a device (phone, tablet, or computer), your Pag-IBIG MID Number, a Philippine mobile number for OTP (many OFWs maintain a roaming Philippine SIM or a relative receives the OTP and forwards it), and an email address you can access.
The online form supports international mobile numbers in some cases. If the OTP system fails, you can email the Pag-IBIG OFW Helpdesk at ofwconcerns@pagibigfund.gov.ph for assistance.
Pag-IBIG operates physical posts in countries with high OFW populations. As of 2026, these include Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Singapore, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Brunei, Malaysia, Italy, United Kingdom, Spain, and selected US cities.
These posts can assist with enrollment, contribution payments, and account inquiries. Check the Pag-IBIG website for the latest list of overseas offices and contact details. For more on how MP2 specifically benefits OFWs, see our MP2 Savings Guide.
Enrollment alone does not start your dividends. You need to make at least one contribution to activate your MP2 account. The good news: you have multiple payment options.
The most convenient method. Log in to Virtual Pag-IBIG, go to the MP2 Savings section, click "Pay MP2 Contribution," enter your amount (minimum P500), choose GCash, Maya, Visa, Mastercard, or JCB, and complete the payment. It typically reflects within 1 to 2 business days with an email confirmation.
Open GCash, tap "Bills," select "Government," tap "Pag-IBIG Fund" then "Pag-IBIG," choose "Modified Pag-IBIG II Savings," enter your 12-digit MP2 Account Number (not your MID), the amount (minimum P500), and the period covered in MM/YYYY format (e.g. 05/2026). A small convenience fee applies; the contribution reflects in 1 to 2 business days.
Most major banks (BPI, BDO, Metrobank, LandBank) support Pag-IBIG payments. Log in to online banking, find "Bills Payment," search Pag-IBIG Fund or HDMF, choose "Modified Pag-IBIG II Savings" or "MP2," enter your MP2 Account Number and amount, and confirm. Asia United Bank (AUB) offers direct MP2 payment via InstaPay without requiring login.
7-Eleven via CLIQQ machines (select Pag-IBIG MP2, enter your account number, pay cash, keep the receipt). Bayad Centers, M. Lhuillier, and ECPay accredited merchants also accept MP2 payments, as do LandBank, Metrobank, and other partner banks. Bring your MP2 Account Number and cash; the teller issues a receipt.
If you are formally employed, you can request automatic MP2 contributions through your salary. This is the easiest way to maintain consistent contributions without thinking about it. Talk to your HR or Payroll department, fill out an MP2 Salary Deduction Authorization Form (your HR may have this, or download it from the Pag-IBIG website), specify your desired monthly amount, and submit the form to HR.
Starting your next pay period, the MP2 amount will be automatically deducted from your salary and remitted to Pag-IBIG by your employer. This method ensures you never miss a contribution and removes the temptation to spend the money instead.
Here are the issues most members encounter during enrollment and how to fix them.
| Problem | Solution |
|---|---|
| Pag-IBIG MID Not Recognized System says your MID is invalid even though you typed it correctly. | Double-check the MID for typos. Make sure your name and birthdate match exactly what Pag-IBIG has on file. If your name was misspelled in Pag-IBIG's records, file a "Member's Change of Information" form at a branch before MP2 enrollment will work. |
| Inactive Membership Status System says your MP1 membership is inactive. | Make a small P200 contribution to your MP1 account to reactivate it. After 1 to 2 business days, the activation reflects and you can proceed. OFWs can do this through Virtual Pag-IBIG using GCash or a bank transfer. |
| Payment Not Reflecting in Account You paid but it does not show up. | Wait 1 to 2 business days for processing. Check your Virtual Pag-IBIG account or call the Pag-IBIG hotline (724-4244) for verification. Keep your payment receipt and reference number ready when calling. |
| Forgotten MID Number You cannot remember your Pag-IBIG MID. | Visit the Virtual Pag-IBIG "Forgot MID" recovery page. Provide your full name, birthdate, and email. The system sends your MID to your registered email. Alternatively, call the hotline or visit any branch with a valid ID. |
You are now an MP2 saver. Here is what to expect.
Once your account matures after 5 years, you can claim your full earnings or roll them into a new MP2 account for another 5-year cycle. For detailed maturity scenarios, use our MP2 Withdrawal Calculator.
Common questions about MP2 enrollment answered.
Online enrollment takes 15 to 20 minutes if you have all your information ready. Branch enrollment takes 30 minutes to 1 hour depending on queue length. The actual application is instant once submitted.
Yes. If you want multiple MP2 accounts (which many savvy savers do for staggered maturity), you must enroll separately for each one. Each account gets its own 12-digit MP2 Account Number and its own 5-year maturity clock.
Yes. The amount you indicated during enrollment is just a target, not a binding commitment. You can contribute more, less, or skip months entirely. The system does not penalize you for variable contributions.
Nothing happens. There are no penalties, no late fees, and no account closure for missed contributions. Your account stays active and continues earning dividends on whatever balance you already have. You can resume contributions anytime.
You can enroll your spouse if they have their own active Pag-IBIG MP1 membership. Children under 18 cannot enroll in MP2 themselves, but you can save in your own MP2 account on their behalf and use the maturity proceeds for their education or other needs.
No. MP2 enrollment is completely free. There are no application fees, processing fees, or hidden charges. You only pay your chosen contribution amount.
No. The dividend payout option is set at enrollment and cannot be changed for that specific MP2 account. However, when you open a new MP2 account, you can choose a different option. This is one reason multiple MP2 accounts make sense.
Log in to Virtual Pag-IBIG and navigate to the MP2 Savings section. You will see your current balance, contribution history, and projected dividends. You can also call the Pag-IBIG hotline (724-4244) for balance inquiries.
The hardest part of MP2 is the mental hurdle of starting. Once you complete enrollment and make your first P500 contribution, the system does the rest. Your money grows quietly, dividends accumulate, and 5 years later you have a meaningful sum waiting for you.
If you have not yet calculated what your money could grow to, our MP2 Calculator shows you the numbers in seconds.

The 2024 dividend of 7.10 percent and the 2025 rate of 7.12 percent are not going to wait for you. Every month you delay enrollment is a month of compound growth lost. Open your MP2 account this week. Future-you will be grateful.
