Step-by-step guide to view your Pag-IBIG MP2 savings, dividends, and contribution history. Written by a 7-year MP2 member.
I opened my MP2 account in March 2018. For the first two years, I had no idea how to check my actual balance. I would see Pag-IBIG's annual dividend announcement, do some rough math on a spreadsheet, and hope my numbers matched theirs.
That changed when I finally figured out the Virtual Pag-IBIG portal properly. Checking your MP2 balance takes about 90 seconds once you know where to click.
If you're an active MP2 saver, you should check your balance at least every quarter. Here's why this matters. Over 7 years, I have personally caught one missing contribution and one misallocated payment in my account. Both got fixed quickly, but only because I noticed early. Pag-IBIG does not notify you when something is off. You have to check yourself.
This guide walks through every method I have tested, with the exact steps that work in 2026.
If you just want the fastest answer, here's the quick breakdown.
| Method | Time Required | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Virtual Pag-IBIG (Web) | 2 minutes | Most users |
| Virtual Pag-IBIG App | 90 seconds | Mobile users |
| Pag-IBIG Hotline | 5 to 10 minutes | When portal is down |
| Branch Visit | 30 to 60 minutes | Account issues |
For 95% of MP2 members, Method 1 (Virtual Pag-IBIG web portal) is the right choice. The rest of this guide focuses on getting that working smoothly, with the other methods as backup.
Three things must be ready before you begin.
Important note from my experience: Your Pag-IBIG MID Number is different from your MP2 Account Number. Both are 12 digits but they serve different purposes. For balance checking, you need your MID. For making contributions, you need your MP2 account number.
Each method explained with exact steps that work in 2026.
This is the official online platform from Pag-IBIG Fund. It is the most reliable method and works any time of day.
Visit the official Virtual Pag-IBIG portal at pagibigfundservices.com/virtualpagibig.
Security warning: Always check you are on the official pagibigfundservices.com domain. There are phishing sites that mimic Pag-IBIG. Never enter credentials on third-party sites.
Enter your registered email address and password. If you haven't registered yet, click "Create Account" and complete the one-time registration. The whole process takes about 5 minutes.
Once logged in, click "Member Services" → "MP2 Savings" → "MP2 Inquiry". The system displays all your active MP2 accounts.
If you have one MP2 account, it auto-selects. If you have multiple accounts, choose from the dropdown.
You will see your total contributions, accumulated dividends, current balance, maturity date, and full contribution history. You can also download a PDF statement directly from this page. I recommend saving one every quarter for your records.
The Pag-IBIG mobile app launched in 2022 and has become my preferred method since I'm checking on the go.
For iOS, search "Virtual Pag-IBIG" in the App Store. For Android, search the same term in Google Play Store.
Open the app and log in with the same credentials as Virtual Pag-IBIG web. Tap "Member Services" on the bottom navigation. Tap "MP2 Savings" → "Balance Inquiry". View your balance breakdown.
Sometimes the Virtual Pag-IBIG portal goes down. This happens especially during dividend announcement weeks in February and March. When that happens, the hotline is your backup.
Local Hotline: (02) 8-724-4244
For OFWs Abroad: +63-2-8-724-4244
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Philippine Time)
Pag-IBIG MID Number, your full name as registered, date of birth, and a valid ID for verification questions.
From my own experience, hotline wait times are usually 5 to 15 minutes during normal business hours. During dividend announcement season in late February to early March, expect 20 to 30 minutes or more. The customer service representative will verify your identity, then give you your current MP2 balance over the phone. They can also email you a statement upon request.

This is the slowest option. But it is the only way to resolve disputed contributions or account discrepancies.
Wait time tip: Metro Manila branches average 30 to 60 minutes. Provincial branches can be faster at 15 to 30 minutes. Avoid Mondays and the first or last day of each month. Those are peak days.
I have hit most of these problems myself over 7 years. Here are the solutions that actually work.
Double-check your MID is exactly 12 digits with no spaces. Try removing dashes if you typed them. Make sure you are using your MID Number, not your MP2 Account Number. If nothing works, contact the Pag-IBIG hotline to verify your MID is correctly registered.
Check your spam or junk folder for the email OTP. Wait 60 seconds before requesting a new code. If still nothing arrives, update your contact info at a Pag-IBIG branch. The online update process is slow.
Contributions made in the last 7 days may not show yet, so wait a week. Check if you used the correct MP2 Account Number when paying. If your contribution is over 14 days old and not showing, contact the Pag-IBIG hotline immediately with your payment receipt.
This actually happened to me in 2021. A ₱5,000 contribution paid through GCash showed up 12 days late. The hotline staff traced it and credited it manually within 48 hours of my call.

Pag-IBIG announces dividend rates in February or March each year. Actual dividend posting to your account can take 2 to 4 weeks after the announcement. If it's been over 6 weeks since the announcement and your dividends still haven't posted, contact the hotline.
For verified historical dividend rates and announcement timelines, see our MP2 Dividend Rates History.
If you're an OFW, all four methods work from outside the Philippines, with some differences.

A 5-minute habit that has saved me money over the years.
Here is a habit that has saved me money over the years. I check my MP2 balance on the last Sunday of every quarter, so March, June, September, and December. It takes me about 5 minutes. I screenshot the balance and save it to a "MP2 Tracking" folder in my phone.
This serves two purposes. First, it catches errors early, like that 2021 missing contribution I mentioned earlier. I caught it because the previous quarter's screenshot showed what should have been added. Second, it tracks compounding visually. Seeing the dividend amount grow over time is genuinely motivating. It is what kept me consistent with contributions during slower income years.
You don't need a fancy spreadsheet or financial planner. Just 5 minutes a quarter. The compounding handles the rest.

Common questions about checking your MP2 balance answered.
I check mine quarterly, every 3 months. That's frequent enough to catch any missing contributions or dividend posting errors, but not so often that it becomes obsessive. If you're contributing monthly, quarterly checks let you verify 3 contributions at a time.
Yes. In Virtual Pag-IBIG, navigate to MP2 Inquiry, then Account Details. You will see all dividends posted by year, including the actual dividend rate applied to your account that year.
This happens for recent contributions, typically within 7 to 14 days. Pag-IBIG validates each contribution against their accredited collection partners. Once validated, "Pending" changes to confirmed and updates your balance.
As of 2026, Pag-IBIG no longer offers SMS balance inquiry for MP2. The SMS service was discontinued when Virtual Pag-IBIG launched. The hotline is the closest equivalent if you don't have internet access.
Only with proper authorization. For one-time inquiries, that person needs your written authorization. For ongoing access, a notarized Special Power of Attorney is required. Pag-IBIG won't share account details without verification, which is good security.
Click "Forgot Password" on the login page. The system sends a reset link to your registered email. If you no longer have access to that email, you must visit a Pag-IBIG branch to update your account credentials.
No. All four methods including web portal, app, hotline, and branch visit are completely free. Pag-IBIG doesn't charge for balance inquiries or statements.
Yes. If you've opened multiple MP2 accounts over different years using the rolling MP2 strategy, all of them appear in your Virtual Pag-IBIG dashboard under one login. You can check each account's balance, maturity date, and dividend history separately. For more on the rolling strategy, see our Advanced MP2 Calculator.
